Linux 2.6.26 DVB with poor quality signal, output stops until reboot

Hi list,

Has anyone else noticed behaviour like this? I have a sometimes-not-
particularly-good digital signal being received by a Conexant CX23880 based
DVB card, running VDR with DXR3 output. When I was using Linux 2.6.25
sometimes things would fail if the signal got really bad; typically VDR would
crash, but then it'd usually bring itself back up again, which is good, except
when it didn't, which is bad. The times when VDR did restart, things would
continue as they had been before, as you would expect. When it didn't, I would
just have to restart VDR manually; annoying, but I have a special button on my
remote configured to do this, so it's not as bad as, say, having to reboot the
machine (which is potentially serving things besides VDR).

Now I try using 2.6.26 and have found that sometimes the DVB card will just
stop transmitting the stream. When this happens I can check the Signal
Information plugin and it says 0 MBps for both video and audio. Even when I
try changing the channel. I have to restart the machine for it to work again.
(I don't know if rmmod/modprobe'ing relevent modules would work; there are a
lot of modules and I'm not sure which ones are relevent.) I haven't noticed
anything unusual in dmesg.

So, I have to stick with 2.6.25 so that I don't have to reboot the machine
when the signal turns bad. Has anyone else noticed something like this? Does
anyone have any ideas of what I should do about it?

Please CC me.

Peace,
Brendon
