Well, thanks for your response.I stated my use case, where I use about a 20
sec. delay. That's right after system time was saved to the hardware clock,
and right before the call to /sbin/shutdown. This short delay works reliably
with the unpatched nvram-wakeup included in the current debian source
package.
While my need is specific indeed, it certainly makes sense to me. I know of
no other tool that can write to the RTC and have this quirky board boot from
S5.
So I will keep my current version, unpatched.
