Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name    : w-scan
  Version         : 20081106
  Upstream Author : Winfried Koehler <handygewinnspiel AET gmx dOt de>
* URL             : http://wirbel.htpc-forum.de/w_scan/index2.html
* License         : GPL
  Description : Scans for DVB-T and DVB-C channels

 w-scan scans for DVB-T and DVB-C transponders and creates a
 channels.conf, that can directly be used by the Linux Video Disc Recorder
 VDR. It is also possible to output channels in a formate readable by the
 czap/tzap tools provided by linuxtv-dvb-zap, xine, totem or me-tv.
 .
 Unlike other tools (like the scan utility in linuxtv-dvb-apps), there's
 no need to specify an initial transponder. DVB-S is not supported.

PS: Originally I've ITP'ed this in 2007, but it was never uploaded. Since
then the package was only available in my private repository.
I've reopend the ITP because of some recent requests (especially from
Ubuntu people) to add this package to Debian. Above is the updated
ITP notice to give everybody a chance to comment on it, before I upload it
to experimental.

The package will be maintained by the Debian VDR and DVB Packaging Team.
