Arg. This bug was so obvious that I've searched for mistakes in my setup, I've
waited more than a week before reporting it. I did not realised that xine was
also packaged by the mighty Marillat. :-p

Well, let's say I do not really fancy a package conflicting with a future
version of itself.
In this instance, multiarch'ed xine should look in both directories to ensure
a smooth transition. Unfortunately, this would require Christian to patch his
xine package.
Ideally, all package from debian-multimedia should have a -dmo suffix (with
proper conflict and replace statement). This would have several benefits:
- avoid confusion between vanilla debian and dmo when logging bugs
(like this one)
- would enable users to cherry-pick between the 2 repos without using apt-
pinning tricks
- would avoid using epoch to distinguish between 2 repos
Unless this happens to be a bad idea, I'll raise the point to the dmo mailing
list.
As for this bug, I think you can close it. It's not a pebkac issue but close
;-)
All the best
Dominique
