Package: vim
Version: 5.8.007-4
Severity: minor

Hi,

I can't even reproduce this myself reliably, so I don't necessarily
expect you to be able to. However, I've encountered it occasionally
across various versions of vim for at least the last year, so I figured
I might as well report it and see if anyone could figure it out from the
source.

Occasionally, when I'm justifying a sequence of paragraphs with gq}
followed by . several times in succession, the first dot causes vim to
go into insert mode rather than justify the next paragraph. If I hit
escape and repeat the same operation, vim behaves as expected. Given how
often I've seen this happen, I'm fairly sure it's not just a typo on my
part.

I haven't been able to come up with a way to reproduce this; I usually
encounter it while editing mail or news, but that's hardly surprising.

Thanks,

I haven't noticed this for some time now, running vim 6.3 here; I'd
actually forgotten about the bug. Closing until/unless I notice it
again.
