ahem, not really, I've not nvi installed, and I was comparing the size 
of nvi .deb with vim size.

I guess this will make vim less efficient, but quite smaller. if we gain 
~100ko, that may be worthwile. if the gain is too small, then don't 
bother IMHO.

okay, seems sensible.
and as of features, vimdiff *is* needed. really. especially in base. 99% 
of the time I use vimdiff, it's on config files.
