Hmm, the last test didn't really show anything interesting and I still
haven't been able to reproduce it or know of anyone else to run into the
problem.

I changed the diversion handling a little in the latest experimental
upload.  When you get a chance could you try the following:

Purge your current vim packages (vim-runtime, vim-common, the vim
variant you have installed and vim-gui-common if you have it).

Make sure no vim diversions show when you run
"/usr/sbin/dpkg-divert --list".

Make sure there are no /usr/share/vim/vim71 or /usr/share/vim/vim72*
directories remaining.

Install the 7.1.314 package and then upgrade to the 7.2c.000 package.
