Bug#464701: vim: wrong file listing with :e .

Package: vim
Version: 1:7.1-241+1
Severity: normal
After upgrading vim today, I obtained the following error:
When using ":e ." command, 2 extra characters are prepended to each
file and directory in the listing. For example, when I am in
directory mydir, whith contents:
..
.
bar
file1.txt
file2.txt
Then, when I type ":e ." from vim I obtain:
r/..
r/.
r/bar
r/file1.txt
r/file2.txt
I.e., the last character of the current directory's name and a slash are
prepended to the file names. Thus, when selecting a file from this listing,
say file1.txt, vim complaints "file /mydir/r/file1.txt doesn't exist".
Apparently, this only happens when the absolute name of the directory
contains non-ascii characters (for example, /home/garcía/mydir).
