Bug#516580: vim-gnome: Hang after ^Z/fg

Vim sometimes fails to resume properly after ^Z. Instead of redrawing
the screen, it produces no output. To get vim back you have to type ^C,
after which it starts working normally again. This affects both Ubuntu
and Debian, and was originally reported as
