OK, Ooops. Voicemail for me completely failed. So in my world, that was
fairly grave. But I guess compared to the other ways that * is used,
this is somewhat less grave. Point taken.

Cisco AS5300 gateway. IP to PSTN and vice versa.

We're using * as a VM platform for a Cisco Call Manager Setup. Due to
some umm interesting Cisco Call Manager and Asterisk Interop issues,
we're forced to route calls to the voice mail * box via the PSTN gateway
that we have. So basically anything that * does is via the h323
interface to the gateway.
We place calls to the number that is the VM target and get an immediate
failure, with * reporting as I have mentioned.
