Debian packages for Asterisk CVS

I'm using the Asterisk stable packages (1:1.0.7.dfsg.1-2) with success, 
and compiling the zaptel-source packages modules for my hardware.

I've started to need features that are only available in Asterisk CVS.

The way I see it, I'd need to download a CVS tree and go through the 
effort of "forward porting" the 1.0.7 diff for Debian to CVS, so that 
everything can play nicely inside my debian/testing system.

Or, I can hope that one of you is already doing this and can point me at 
an unofficial deb repository so I can apt-get upgrade :-)

Which will it be?
