Package: asterisk
Version: 1:1.0.7.dfsg.1-2
Severity: normal

If you edit the file /etc/default/asterisk to start asterisk at boot
time, and use capital letters YES /etc/init.d/asterisk will not start.
Since most options in config files that I've seen are case insensitive
(vsftpd etc) and since sometimes capital letters allow for easier
seeing of options, it might make sense to change this script to be case
insensitive. Thanks for your hard work, I really appreciate it.

Mike,

thanks for the bug report.

/etc/default/asterisk clearly states:

# RUNASTERISK: run asterisk upon boot. Should be set to "yes" once you have
# setup your configuration.

While we could technically set things up to parse for yes|YES|y|Y|wee|T|1|...
I think the config file is pretty clear what the allowed values are and we
have bigger issues to fry in voip-maintainers.

Mark
