zaptel.postinst contains this piece of code:

                N=1; 
                while (( $N < 250 )) ; do 
                        rm -f /dev/zap/$N; 
                        mknod /dev/zap/$N c 196 $N; 
                        N=`expr $N + 1` 
                done

The (( ... )) construct is bash-specific.  A simple posix-compatible
replacement is:

		...
		while [ $N -lt 250 ]; do
			...
