This could be an issue, what sort of zaptel hardware do you have?

Looks like you have built a recent set of modules for your current kernel.  I 
wonder if they are actually loading:

What sort of output do you get from zttool?

Still need a copy of your zaptel.conf.

Also could you provide the list of modules you have loaded:

$ lsmod
