Not good enough: removing (but not purging) an earlier asterisk leaves
a (possibly enabled!) default/asterisk that then may cause trouble on
install, as you cannot be sure of the order of install of packages.

Package asterisk can then instead predepend on one of the packages
containing the binary, but predepends should generally be avoided.

Didn't check if that's the case already, but please install them twice -
below /usr/share/doc/asterisk/examples too.

If packaging routines simply include that extra module if the build
environment happen to offer the gtk headers, then I agree it is less
severe.

If packaging gets confused and fails if build environment offers the
gtk headers, then it is a release-candidate FTBFS bug.
