destar on sarge

I'm trying to run DeStar on Sarge. A number of problems:

1. There is a build dependency on Asterisk. Why? I removed it, and
package seems to have build fine.

2. What changes would be required if I wanted to use quixote from
Sarge? I currently rebuilt quixote1 from Sid to get things working.

3. It fails to load if the hostname has no valid IP assigned to it, BTW.
