Asterisk: Is anyone using hinting?

Hi!
I'm trying to get the leds working on my snom phones (320/360).
Hinting rules are added to the extensions.conf, the function keys of the
phones are programmed. When I start the asterisk and then the phones, I
see the following:
asterisk*CLI> show hints
-= Registered Asterisk Dial Plan Hints =-
462 : SIP/462 State:Idle Watchers 0
460 : SIP/460 State:Idle Watchers 1
407 : SIP/407 State:Idle Watchers 0
406 : SIP/406 State:Idle Watchers 1
404 : SIP/404 State:Idle Watchers 1
401 : SIP/401 State:Idle Watchers 2
----------------
- 6 hints registered
asterisk*CLI> sip show subscriptions
Peer User Call ID Extension Last state Type
10.10.30.102 406 3c267009c35 460 Idle dialog-info+xml
10.10.30.102 406 3c267009c0d 401 Idle dialog-info+xml
10.10.30.102 406 3c267009c0d 404 Idle dialog-info+xml
10.10.30.103 404 3c26700972b 406 Idle dialog-info+xml
10.10.30.103 404 3c267009704 401 Idle dialog-info+xml
5 active SIP subscriptions
I would say, everything looks fine.
Now 404 calls 401. Since 406 watches both numbers, it gets two notify
messages from the asterisk, but the message says "terminated", not
"ringing". And this only works once. If 404 calls 401 again, no messages
are sent.
So, what I have to do to get subscriptions working?
I'm using the latest asterisk version of unstable, but it didn't work
with earlier versions (1.2.x), too.
Shade and sweet water!
