Packages in that repository are basically our take on the pkg-voip
packages. In cases we producd the packages ourselves (e.g.: amportal)
or deviated much from the pkg-voip (e.g: the asterisk 1.0.x packages) we
set the Maintainer feild to be someone at xorcom.com . But generally we do
try to stick with Debian (because we're lazy ;-)

I figure you should start by getting the pkg-voip repository and see
that you can build packages from there. It is most convinient to get
patches vs. the subversion rather than some existing packages that need
to be merged. Packages can be built directly from the repository using
svn-buildpackage. See
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-voip/README?op=file&rev=0&sc=0

The version of Asterisk from the svn builds fine on Sarge. Generally the
Xorcom version is based on Sarge.

As for amportal: generally the amportal 1.10.010 package is now in
mantinance mode and work is being invested in the newer version (AMP2,
a.k.a freepbx). The quality of the packaging should be better.
I'mm CC-ing Diego to give a better reply as he's the one working on that
package.
