so for me it's perfectly ok both ways. :) I've had good experiences with 
upstream<->debian cooperation with other packages before, so should be no 
problem. We are anyways maintaining Debian packaging for our releases, so 
I guess I could directly push the changes to the pkg-voip SVN. But, 
but, I can send patches as well, no problem.
