Just so that you don't think you can escape that work: I will not do
it. In the abstract, it is better if it builds on sarge, but my
packages are in bad enough a shape in sid that I cannot focus on sarge
backports now.

(And please don't make it mess up / complicate the build nor anything
like that.)
