Asterisk core dumps in latest asterisk with bristuff

Hello,
today I tried one of the latest packages on pkg-voip.buildserver.net
(exactly version 1.2.7.1.dfsg-1.sarge.1642) and bristuff does not work:
asterisk core dumps while trying to dial a (bristuffed) channel.

Checking around it seems like latest package is 
http://www.junghanns.net/downloads/bristuff-0.3.0-PRE-1p.tar.gz

Is it the one used in the package?

I could not test the newer versions of asterisk in the repository
because it has a file conflict:
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/asterisk_1%
3a1.2.7.1.dfsg-2.sarge.1742_all.deb (--unpack):
 trying to overwrite `/etc/default/asterisk', which is also in package
asterisk-classic
