better way to handle patches

When I tried to put this brazilian_syntax.dpatch into debian/patches I got a 
lot of errors because the files it was trying to patch was already modified 
then I went to editing the original .diff to fit it in.

I know it's too much manual work for a patch but I could not get it right and 
*easy* using any other method I had in hand.
