I use Nikotel to call to POTS.

My audio setting in twinkle are:
ALSA: default: Default device
for ring tone, speaker and microphone.
play period size is 128, capture period size is 32.

the alsa-base package is version  1.0.11-1
I use the sound driver from kernel 2.6.17-rc2 (compiled into the kernel,
not a module).

from dmesg output:
