new asterisk 1.4 debs

Hi, is there some public status about the 1.4 packages? I'm very  
interested on it and willing to help on that, if possible. I've been  
looking in the experimental branch and despite the obvious missing  
build-deps, I noticed someone (Mark?) is roughly CDBS to build a  
test .deb. Is it real or just a quick test or something else?

Seems that menuselect is the main blocker, right? Have anyone tried  
to reverse engineer it or may I try to?
