Coin,

At least reload, logger-reload, and extensions-reload should check
status to avoid such crap when asterisk is shut down:

/etc/cron.daily/logrotate:
Unable to connect to remote asterisk (does
/var/run/asterisk/asterisk.ctl exist?)
invoke-rc.d: initscript asterisk, action "logger-reload" failed.
error: error running shared postrotate script for
/var/log/asterisk/cdr-custom/Master.csv /var/log/asterisk/debug
/var/log/asterisk/event_log /var/log/a\sterisk/messages
run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate exited with return code 1
