Linphone is in fact well maintained, mostly by Samuel Mimram.
2.0.0-1 recently hit Debian unstable (sid) while 2.0.1-1 is already in
our repository.
To migrate to testing (lenny), the package needs to fulfill certain
requirements, including staying in unstable bug-free for 10 days.
As for Ubuntu, I'm not very familiar with their policy, but I believe
that they sync with unstable every ~6 months or so.
Thanks,
