Seems rather old. The zaptel 1.2 Makefile seems to have some extra build flags
for amd64 . The Etch zaptel-source tarball builds just fine on my amd64
workstation (at least with 2.6.18-3-amd64) .

Could you please repeat the exact steps that fail?
