libmisdn-dev among others and a asterisk-chan-misdn separate package. We
also have a misdn-kernel package which produces mISDN kernel modules.
misdn-user is a year old -- misdn-kernel the same probably. misdn-kernel
is full of bugs in the BTS (2 grave, 1 serious, 2 important etc.).
asterisk-chan-misdn FTBFS against asterisk.
All of them are, of course, out of testing and not released with etch.
Meanwhile, chan_misdn is merged in Asterisk 1.4 but doesn't build
because of those outdated libraries.
Both of misdn-{user,kernel} have Simon as a maintainer (he's apparently
member of the team, not Cc'ing him) but he doesn't seem to work on them
anymore.
There are two open (merged) bugs requiring a new upstream of misdn-user:
#427855, with a patch from Lee Garrett (not a member of pkg-voip, Cced)
and #418276 with a patch from Tzafrir Cohen.
Meanwhile, Dermot Bradley sent on 2007-07-04 a mail on pkg-voip with an
update of both packages, followed by two commits of his on 2007-07-17
adding mISDN to our repository partially based on Tzafrir's work.
Now, Dermot is not a DD.
I can upload those but technically the packages are still under Simon's
maintainance, so we're talking about hijacking.
Simon, permission to do that?
You're a pkg-voip member, so you could start commiting as soon as you
find the time, you still would be a comaintainer.
Lee, you seemed interested in mISDN, could you test Tzafrir's and
Dermot's packaging efforts and see if they suit you?
Manpower is obviously needed on this, could you help us with testing or
development (note that I'm not a project administrator and I joined the
team quite recently so I'm not really on a position to invite you "in").
Tzafrir & Dermot, any plans about those versions in the repository? Are
they ready? What else is needed? Are they blocked by something?
Assuming Simon will agree, when do you want me to upload those?
Regards,
Faidon
