Please see modules.conf in the package asterisk-config . We build two
copies of app_directory (with and without odbc support) and hence one of
them needs to be disabled.

Generally you should not run Asterisk as root.

As you might have noticed, extra v-s are a great way to hide the error
messages of Asterisk...
