I tried with audiobuffer=10 and still couldn't reproduce it.

Could you tell us a bit more about the test scenario?
You mentioned a problem when a second participant enters.
What technologies are the two channels? SIP? Zap?

TBH, I'm inclined to just remove that particular patch because the
existence of a rare problem outweights the questionable benefits that it
has...
