For the record:

  make progdocs HAVEDOT=no

* Removes all of the annoying "Pango" warnings. 
* Reduces the build time (Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7500  @ 2.20GHz) 
  from more than 3 minutes to 48 seconds. 
* Removes the uncompressed size from 198MB to 161MB. 
* The compressed size is reduced from 48MB to some 23MB.

Anybody on this list used the API docs?

(I tend to have a source of Asterisk anyway)
