Nope, but a suggestion for finding the answer:

Try grep for update-alternatives below /var/lib/dpkg/info and compare 
with those results to see if you've missed some parts that others do 
(especially big popular ones like gcc or fakeroot).

Or have a look at /usr/sbin/update-java-alternatives - not directly 
comparable but maybe reveals something interesting.
