When you feel you're ready, please have a look at the Developer's 
Reference and at our own README file here:
    http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-voip/README?op=file

Then, create an account on Alioth (alioth.debian.org) and request 
permission to join the pkg-voip project. I'll then accept your request.

Note that you don't /need/ commit access to start contributing (and 
contributing before getting one is considered a plus).

Have a look at
	http://bugs.debian.org/src:asterisk
(or other pkg-voip packages).

There are many bugs that need triaging. You can start from the easy 
ones, verifying that they still exist and possibly attaching patches to 
the bug reports.
