Package: asterisk
Version: 1:1.6.2.9-2+squeeze4
Severity: wishlist
Dear sirs,
There is still a problem of fax gateway in Asterisk. If you are not
close your asterisk, there is no possibility to send fax to another
channel (SIP to DAHDI). Fax gateway is great possibility for now.
Freeswitch can do this from the box.
Good and only way is to use T30-T38 Fax conversion. In Asterisk 10
this problem should be solved, see
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/T.38+Fax+Gateway
But another stable version in Debian is 1.8. There is a patch
https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=13405 which adds possibility to
make conversion between T30 and T38 gateways(endpoints) May be this
patch must be in next release.
Thanks
