Sorry you are right, my answer was a bit too short.
The problem is, that there is no sane way to provide LSB headers which
depend on one of dbus or ice, so it is set to the default (in this
release) behaviour of the server package

No it isn't. It was more a: your way is supported, but you didn't
changed all required configs (changing the depend on dbus in the config
init script).

As I stated above it is not possible here :/

From my POV you just miss to adjust the init script
