I just installed 1.2.3-313-ge5c4657-1 and have the same problem. It went 
away after I executed 
	chown myuid:mygid /dev/input/event*

after that I got the gtk window & wizard. They were owned by root:root 
and perms were 600. Not sure if this is my local problem not...
