pkg-voip commit hook/email issues

I followed the instructions here:
http://pkg-voip.alioth.debian.org/README.html#_creating_a_git_repository
to set up the VCS for resiprocate
   http://mentors.debian.net/package/resiprocate
When I make a commit, I get an email like this:
"Your mail to 'Pkg-voip-commits' with the subject
    [SCM] UNNAMED PROJECT branch, master, updated.
upstream/1.8.0_pre1-1-g99a5345"
I notice the description file does have the project name, so I'm not
sure about the UNNAMED PROJECT in the message?  Are there extra steps
for setting up the commit hook/repo setup?
