Hi Luke,

My only advice is: remove ffmpeg/libav from debian-multimedia, install 
the ones from debian official, and build yourself ptlib, opal and ekiga. 
  Take into account 
http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Download_Ekiga_sources (unstable 
release).  You will have H263/4 codecs.  It should work.

PS You can also take ptlib from experimental (2.10.7) instead of 
building it.

PS2 Alternatively, you can wait until these releases appear in experimental.
