Hi there Debian maintainers of portaudio19-dev,
PortAudio is in the process of vetting a release candidate and their goal
is to update their package before the Ubuntu 14.04 debian import freeze.
http://portaudio.com/download.html (see the 2014-01-14 RC)
This will be the first stable release in 3 years and includes a ton of bug
fixes that affect projects like Mixxx with high profile (for us) bugs like
this:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/900364
I'm just writing to get on your radar -- would any of you have spare cycles
for updating the portaudio debian package once their new stable version is
released (should be very soon now)? I definitely have a huge bias in trying
to make this happen so that this and other PA bugs can be fixed for our
users on Debian and Ubuntu :).
I got all of your emails from the maintainers list on this page:
http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/portaudio19-dev
Please let me know if there is a better place to check.
Thanks and best regards,
RJ Ryan
