Mumble package pulseaudio dependency

Good evening everyone, I hope you had a good week!

I notice that the mumble package in Jessie has a pulseaudio
dependency- is this really a requirement? I was under the impression
that it was not (though my only evidence is woefully old forum threads
http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/mumble/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=604).

As a Debian user who uses mumble but not pulseaudio, this is
inconvenient. Would it be possible to have this dependency removed?
