If you agree, then there is no need for you to find time for it: I can

Not beyond the symbols file tracking which automatically fails the 
build.

...and frankly I don't see the need in this case: The project has no 
reverse dependencies in Debian (Asterisk has just been rebuilt _without_ 
pjproject - I will switch that back only when pjproject is in testing).

Interesting.

If I understand correctly, that is work on improving lightening of 
linkage, but not really a serious issue to address.  As such, I 
appreciate your working on it, and raising awareness and interest 
upstream, but will not tinker with that area myself.
