This looks very similar to
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=844619 in libedit,
downgrading to
http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20151204T042531Z/pool/main/libe/libedit/libedit2_3.1-20150325-1%2Bb1_amd64.deb
fixed the issue for me. 

Can you confirm?
