This bug is 6 years old and no reply. Has linphone been abandoned?

Anyway, exactly the smae thing is still happening:

Linphone has only worked once on Debian, many years ago. I have always
had to give up and turn to ekiga before.

I had hoped that it might have been fixed meanwhile, but it seems not
:-(
