Package: asterisk
Version: 1:13.23.1~dfsg-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
		apt-get upgrade included libgnutls30
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
Rolling back the filesystem snapshot allowed me to pinpoint the package with the linking error. I'm not sure if the bug should be filed against libgnutls30 or against asterisk.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
Upgrading libgnutls30 causes asterisk to fail to load, with little in terms of log messages by default. Turning up verbosity and running asterisk in the foreground showed an ld linker error against an encryption library (judging from the symbol reported).

I then ran 'apt-mark hold' on libgnutls30, and upgraded again -- this time with success.

After this bug is finished getting filed, I'll get the full error message I'm seeing.

As I said -- I'm unsure if the problem is with libgnutls30, or if asterisk simply requires a recompile.
