Bug#978740: RM: siproxd -- ROM; unmaintained, outdated, FTBFS

Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

siproxd has not seen a maintainer upload since 2013, and had an NMU in
May 2015. It has been FTBFS since April 2020 (GCC 10), and because of
that was removed from testing in 2020-08-07. The last commit in the VCS
repo is from Aug 2015.

Upstream is not super active, but has continued to release new upstream
versions - the last one being 0.8.3 released in August 2020.

The package is technically team-maintained (Maintainer is set to
pkg-voip, Cc'ed here); I am listed as one of the Uploaders, but last
worked on in in 2010 or thereabouts. I've left the team a long time ago
(2012-2013?) and have asked to be removed as comaintainer on numerous
occasions, but noone has made any uploads nor worked on it, so this
hasn't happened. Mark Purcell was the person in the team that last
worked on this, but has not been active in Debian for some time now. So,
I suppose that technically this makes this a ROM?

I don't think anyone is being served by us carrying this package in
unstable. If anyone feels this is useful for them, they could step up
and make a new upload. They'd likely have to start fresh anyway, given
that this wasn't a super complex package and packaging standards have
evolved in the time since.

Regards,
Faidon
