Well, I did report the bug many years ago, so ...

s/could not/did not choose to/ !

You certainly could have if you wanted to!

Honestly, I don't understand why such kind of bugs don't have
highest priority for you. After all, phone calls are a real-time,
real-world activity with real consequences, so any bugs that affect
this core function should by definition be much more important than
changing the GUI toolking or other look&feel changes:

- Not terminating the call may not only confuse the party on the
other side, but possibly also run up costs if it's a
paid-by-the-minute connection which may be left open for a long
time when the user thinks they have terminated.

- Likewise, another bug I had back then (losing its configuration,
especially sound config, so when picking up a call, I'd sometimes
get no audio, because it would use the default sound device
instead of the headset I had configured) had real-world
consequences, since the caller would hear just silence and assume
the call didn't work or I didn't pick up, because I can't just fix
the configuration and pick up again. (I could do this for incoming
calls, not for outgoing calls.) I don't know if this bug is still
open (can't find the bug report anymore, probably also too old).

Meanwhile, I have a different router from a different internet
provider, and I'd first have to learn if it supports a SIP server,
and if so, how to set it up.

This would take me some time, but honestly, why should I invest the
time, just to be able to confirm that the bug probably still exists,
so you can ignore it for some more years!?

I'm a software developer too, and I know that most bugs don't come
into existence by themselves, but are errors made in the source
code. Likewise, bugs don't just disappear by themselves unless
fixed.

So if you didn't address this bug at any time, it's rather safe to
assume that it's still present.

At this point it's probably less effort if you take the old linphone
sources to reproduce the bug with them, than for me to set up a new
test environment.

Otherwise, please at least be so honest and mark it as "wontfix", so
other users know what they're getting.
