Source: portaudio19
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

i'd like to request an update of the portaudio19 package to version 19.7.0,
which was released already in April 2021, see:

https://github.com/PortAudio/portaudio/releases/tag/v19.7.0

Release notes list various fixes for ALSA and Jack support, also in relation to
make it usable with Pipewire.

It would be great if we could have this in unstable before the end of package
sync for the Ubuntu 22.04-LTS release around mid-february 2022. I was asked to
file a bug report with update request here, instead of directly against Ubuntu.

My main reason for this request is that an up to date package would benefit
scientific use cases provided by the octave-psychtoolbox-3 package in Debian,
Ubuntu, and the NeuroDebian project which is part of Debian/Science.

Many thanks and happy new year!
Mario (the upstream maintainer of octave-psychtoolbox-3)
