Upstream fixed it in the following commit

And also released 12.5.1.18+0~mr12.5.1.18 which contains that fix.
I've also added the above mentioned commit to ``debian/patches`` and that
made Salsa's CI autopkgtest job succeed, while it failed without it.
I've attached the patch that I used for that.

So that could be an alternative, but upgrading to 12.5.1.18 is probably
easier and/or better.
