Thanks, but such change is of no value for the official Debian package,
since fallback values are ignored on official build-daemons.
I will not include build hints for unofficial use as part of the
official Debian package: The package is already plenty complex to
maintain, and I am struggling to find anyone interested in helping out
maintaining it.
