There is perhaps no need for you to apply these diffs to your package; and
for any of these packages where you will be changing sonames, the diffs can
be dropped.  But without making this transition explict in unstable, *any*
no-change rebuild in the meantime, of any of these libraries or their
reverse-dependencies, would result in potentially RC-buggy ABI skew.  So our
intent would still be to NMU these to unstable even if the library
transition is subsequently superseded.

Based on the above I think you should let us go ahead with the NMUs to
unstable and not worry about it, clobbering them later at your convenience.
